Great location. Short walk to the Magnificent Mile and all the sights of downtown. The hotel was nicely decorated with a retro look, and the rooms were clean. Did not see a whole lot of staff in the hotel or restaurant. One person working the front desk and was usually pretty busy, so it took a little longer to get help. All the staff we encountered were friendly. Overall nice hotel, lacking a bit in terms of amenities and service.
Very close to many restaurants, shopping and site seeing. Lost hot water for the last 2 days of the trip. Most likely and fluke issue. I would stay there again.
Location is perfect, no room service could improve.
This is an historic building, so it is old. But it is kept up fairly well, and the rooms are very nice. Large TV, fully tiled bathrooms, very comfortable beds. The only thing that kept me from giving an excellent rating is that the hotel seems fairly thin on staff. No real concierge, no doorperson, no daily room service. And the restaurants that were off the lobby are all closed. I get it — post COVID. Would I stay again? Definitely. The location and room quality make this a great value.
No restaurant, no coffee or microwave in room. Very small room with Queen bed. No parking. ( paid $85.00 to park..). Evening staff did the bare minimum.
Pros. I was the only one in our group that liked the old school feel the room had to offer. The others thought it was tacky and incredibly outdated. The location was fantastic for our first tour of Chicago as well!!!
Cons. The glasses inside of the room had lipstick on them. I reported this to the lady behind the desk and I do not think she believed me. She gave me a pack of plastic cups and sent me on my way. This was fine but the reaction was not as I expected. It was as if dirty dishes in the room was a common occurrence. The pillows felt worn out and chunky, the bed was very hard (good for me, not the others in the group) and the lighting needs improvement. It felt like I was a cave dweller the entire stay. The fitness room was an absolute joke. Rusted benches, worn down treadmills and a filthy environment. Whitehall really dropped the ball on the only amenity offered. The lack of care and passion put into the hotel will be the reason I do not return. I suggest you do the same.
Pros. Warm welcome very polite staff. They greeted my dog Zeech as well. He had a great time and also liked the view.
Cons. If I could have stayed longer.
Pros. Location. Cleanliness. Room size. Comfortable bed.
Cons. Would hope to get a better view for the expense. Also, would have helped to know facilities such as the gym were closed due to COVID.
Pros. The room was great!
Cons. Nothing really
Pros. Great spot for seeing a play at Broadway playhouse and eating Francesca!! Loved it!
Cons. I have no recommendations. Everything i needed was there!!
